Removing old or damaged paint layers—also known as paint stripping or paint removal—is an essential part of renovating and repairing various metal surfaces. AD Chemicals offers a wide range of powerful paint strippers including strippers which are completely free of methylene chloride and N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP). These more sustainable alternatives are suitable for a variety of applications and combine effectiveness with a focus on safety and sustainability.
Applications of AD paint strippers
AD Chemicals’ paint strippers have been developed for the effective removal of a wide range of coatings and paint layers. They can be used in a variety of industrial and professional applications, both for metal surfaces and other substrates. Our products remove, among other things:
✔ Powder coatings (epoxy & polyester)
✔ Wet paint (various wet-applied paints/varnishes)
✔ Alkyd paints/varnishes
✔ Water-based (acrylic & latex) varnishes
✔ Two-component epoxy and polyurethane coatings
✔ Muffle varnishes
✔ Bitumen and anti-fouling coatings
✔ Graffiti, ink, and film-forming coatings
✔ GEOMET coatings
These products are safe for use on surfaces such as steel, galvanized steel, and aluminum. Our paint strippers are popular in sectors where parts regularly need to be recoated or repaired. These include the automotive industry (e.g. for stripping alloy wheels), the metalworking industry, contract coaters, industries for facade and fencing systems, mechanical engineering, defense, and shipbuilding. Industrial spray painting service providers and cleaning companies also make frequent use of our products for the thorough and safe removal of old coatings.
Whether it concerns the repair of parts, the reuse of metals, or the preparation of surfaces for a new coating, AD offers a suitable, efficient, and safe solution for virtually every paint stripping application.
Important considerations when removing paint
When choosing a suitable paint stripper, it is crucial to consider both the type of paint and the material to be treated. The aim is to remove the paint layer without damaging the underlying surface. Environmental aspects and safety are important considerations here. We recommend contacting our experts in advance—they will be happy to advise you on the best approach and the most suitable product for your application.
Methylene chloride and NMP-free paint strippers
For those looking for a more sustainable alternative, AD Chemicals has developed a complete range of paint strippers that are free of methylene chloride (dichloromethane). The products are designed with environmental impact, effectiveness, and cost-conscious use in mind. These products are therefore free of Cl- and F-halogenated compounds and thus meet the growing demand for safe, responsible chemicals.

Cold or hot paint stripping
Paint strippers differ not only in their chemical composition, but also in the temperature at which they are most effective. AD Chemicals offers a complete range of products for both cold and hot paint stripping, providing a suitable solution for every process.
Cold paint stripping (room temperature)
Our cold paint strippers have been specially developed to perform effectively at room temperature. They offer a powerful and safe solution for removing even the most stubborn coatings, such as epoxy or GEOMET®, without the need for heating. This makes cold paint stripping ideal for situations where energy consumption, safety, or material sensitivity are important factors.
Hot paint stripping (60-90°C)
For applications where speed and effectiveness are key, our heat-activated paint strippers are the right choice. These products perform optimally at temperatures between 60 and 90°C and are ideal for removing heavy or multiple layers of paint in industrial processes.
AD Chemicals offers several product options for both applications. View our extensive product overview to find the right paint stripper for your situation.
Private Label Service
AD Chemicals also offers the option of purchasing paint strippers and paint removers under a Private Label. This allows customers to market their own product line, entirely under their own brand name and corporate identity.

Strip MCV
Strip MCV is designed as a sustainable and powerful cold paint stripper with a wide range of applications. The product is acid-based but does not contain methylene chloride, a harmful substance often found in traditional paint strippers.
Strip MMA
Strip MMA is a particularly powerful cold stripping agent, specially developed for removing even the most stubborn coatings, such as GEOMET®.
Strip 968
Strip 968 is a liquid cold paint stripper for aluminum, steel, and galvanized steel that is free of chlorinated hydrocarbons (methylene chloride free) and phenols and is applied by immersion.
Additive Strip 3K
Additive Strip 3K is a special additive that is added to caustic soda or potash lye to significantly accelerate the alkaline stripping of, for example, suspension hooks and painted parts.
Strip 813 MF
Strip 813 MF is an effective liquid paint stripper, developed without the use of chlorinated hydrocarbons, phenols, or methylene chloride.
Strip 33
Strip 33 is a two-component paint stripping system specially developed for removing muffle paints from chromated aluminum without heating.
Strip B1
Strip B1 is based on methylene chloride, contains alkaline activators, and does not attack aluminum. Strip B1 also contains a wax that limits the evaporation of methylene chloride.
