AD Chemicals develops, produces and supplies a complete product range of chemicals for the iron phosphating process. Next to traditional iron phosphating products AD offers a portfolio of innovative iron phosphate alternatives to create a perfect finish on steel substrates.
The AD phosphate technology has been developed with the high quality demands of iron and steel coating companies in mind.Iron phosphating (short phosphating) is a chemical pre-treatment process. During the process, a layer of insoluble phosphates is applied to the metal surface. This layer is often referred to as the “conversion layer”. Phosphating is used to provide steel and iron with corrosion protection, in addition, the phosphate layer improves paint adhesion. In order to achieve additional corrosion protection and paint adhesion a passivation product can be added to the final treatment bath.
Steel (phosphate) portfolio
- Degrease and phosphate combination products
- Pickling/Etch products
- Iron Phosphating chemicals (PHOSPHATE 06H)
- Passivation additives, chromium-6 free (PreCoat ADL-4P)
Iron phosphate alternatives
AD Chemicals is known for its innovative power with associated continuous product development and has developed a range of alternative products for the phosphating of iron based on polymer/silane and trivalent chrome technology. This makes it easy to switch to a hexavalent chrome-free system while maintaining or improving the existing quality.
PreCoat ADL-4p is a hexavalent chrome free passivation treatment that can be used to upgrade the quality of chemical treatment in traditional iron phospahting processes.
The iron phosphating process remains a common treatment process of steel and other metal surfaces. AD supplies a wide range of phosphating products.
