PrimeCoat® A10x-series are chrome free water-based pre-treatments for Aluminium sheet metal, purposely developed to improve paint adhesion and bonding properties of the metal surface.
Aluminium (and zinc alloy-coated steel) pre-treated with PrimeCoat® A10x products provide excellent durable bonding of coil-coating paints and adhesive bonding properties.
The bonding properties of PrimeCoat® A10x products are tested in combination with several monolayer and primer / topcoatings after exposure in wet conditions like humidity tests and immersion in boiling water.
When an appropriate primer and topcoat system is used the pre-treatment PrimeCoat® A10x products will give good corrosion resistance comparable with a conventional no-rinse chromate pre treatment and excellent tribological properties and outdoor weathering resistance.
Designed for the following applications:
- Aluminium architecture
- Alu food packaging / foil
PrimeCoat A10x-series benefits
- No-rinse system
- Chromefree, water based chemistry
- Good corrosion protection properties
- Improved paint adhesion and bonding
Pretreatments
Durability and extended end-use life are demands that consumers take for granted and of which they expect continuous improvement year on year. Paint adhesion and corrosion resistance are critical factors in keeping end-use applications in a condition that is expected to remain in place for their usable life time.
Passivation
‘White rust’ the enemy of zinc coated steel strips, is in itself a form of corrosion that occurs during storage and is unacceptable for critical applications in, white goods, construction and other industries.
Thin Organic Coatings
Thin Organic Coatings (TOC’s) are applied in a continuous process to hot dip galvanized steel strip and other metal substrates, and can offer a wide range of benefits from anti-fingerprinting to improving, forming and enabling enhanced corrosion protection.
Cleaners and specialty additives
Oils and greases used during processing as well as other forms of surface contamination must be removed. This can be achieved using either acid or alkaline based cleaners depending on the nature of the contamination and the type of metal substrate.
Lubricant boosters
Booster lubricants reduce the wear and tool pollution during pressing of metal sheets.
