Use of PreCoat TVL
PreCoat TVL is used to obtain a conversion coating on aluminium extrusions and panels. After immersion (or spraying) in PreCoat TVL, the wet film is dried on the aluminium surface without additional rinsing (so called no rinse system), prior to the powder coating.
- PreCoat TVLis suitable in spraying and immersion processes
- PreCoat provides good protection to under creep corrosion
- PreCoat provides excellent adhesion with organic coatings (e.g. powder paint systems)
- Meets international quality standards such as Qualicoat and GSB
More than 15 years of experience
AD Chemicals is already more than 15 years a leader in the field of chrome(VI)-free pretreatments for aluminium substrates. With PreCoat TVL you can rely on a pretreatment system that delivers quality as promised.
Independently tested by IFO Germany
“Is the requirement of 1000 hours corrosion resistance which Qualicoat prescribes enough?”
AD Chemicals doubts this statement of Qualicoat. When you only focus on the 1000 hours corrosion resistance, that has been described in the past, Qualicoat is right. However, the corrosion resistance of chromium (VI) based pretreatments fulfills the 2500 hours. This was a fair value for Chromium (VI) based pretreatments on Aluminium. AD Chemicals has investigated their chromium-free systems on the corrosion resistance of 3000 hours and compared it with the traditional chromium(VI) systems.
Internal research shows that the tpretreatment of AD Chemicals PreCoat TVL achieved a corrosion resistance of 2500-3000 hours. With an AD Chemicals pretreatment you can count on the best corrosion resistance available in the market.

AD Chemicals is specialized in chromium(VI)-free conversion coatings and passivations. These products are marketed under the brandname PreCoat.
Pre-treatment chemicals prior to coating
AD Chemicals develops, produces and supplies a wide range of products to pretreat aluminium surfaces prior to a coating process. This can be both a powder-coating and liquid paint process. AD products significantly enhance adhesion, corrosion protection and general surface quality of the finished product. All products are certified by or tested against international quality standards such as Qualicoat and GSB. The products can be applied in dip, spray and cascade processes.
The product portfolio for aluminium pre-treatment
- AD is specialized in developing chrome(VI)-free conversion coatings (brandname PreCoat), completely free of chromium (chromefree) or on chromium trivalent basis.
- Degreasers, Etch, Etch additives, desmut/neutralisation, chromate based products and chrome free products
- Paint strippers for aluminium
AD, the chromefree specialist
Also companies that are seeking improvement in an already chromefree process can count on AD. AD has an extensive track record in optimizing the performance and efficiency of chemical pretreatment lines.
Durability and extended end-use life are demands that consumers take for granted and of which they expect continuous improvement year on year. Paint adhesion and corrosion resistance are critical factors in keeping end-use applications in a condition that is expected to remain in place for their usable life time.
‘White rust’ the enemy of zinc coated steel strips, is in itself a form of corrosion that occurs during storage and is unacceptable for critical applications in, white goods, construction and other industries,
AD Chemicalso has expert knowledge and offers a wide variety of chemicals and additives for the anodizing process.
